Happy Canada Day / Joyeuse Fête du Canada!

Since the establishment of the Dominion of Canada in 1867, Canada is officially 141 years old!

Some people started celebrating yesterday – I noticed one family with more than a few screws loose setting off commercial fireworks in their backyard. Unless I’m mistaken, fireworks with spider effects cannot possbily be available for consumer use. Well, I’m in no position to chastise others since there is a high probability that I shall be out tonight doing very much the same thing, except in a slightly more intelligent manner. I’ll be at the local high school.

Somehow, I get the feeling that most of us just like July 1st for the fireworks. Well, it’s already an established fact that Victoria Day is only good for roman candle wars.

Here’s a fun little video about our wonderful (or wonderfully empty) country from YouTube. Rocks and Trees by The Arrogant Worms. (Perhaps just rocks now, since the trees have a beetle infestation.)

  1. I fail to see how Japanese animation represents Canada..

  2. You’ve known me long enough to realise that an explanation for the presence of Japanese cartoons isn’t warranted. It’s just there.

  3. You must be very bored.
